Why start a blog?

Most entrepreneurs will tell you that if they’d known how much work it was going to be, they never would have done it. For the last 8 years, we’ve been working so hard on the business of PocketMac that we really haven’t had a chance to put a face on our company.

So many of you use our software but don’t know who we are. Over the years, we’ve met some of you at trade shows or simply by chance. But the exchange-of-business-cards moment doesn’t really present the same opportunity that a format like this does.

Here’s the backstory, or at least some of it. My brother started PocketMac almost ten years ago. I joined three years later when it became clear that there was simply too much work for one person to do.

The first thing people usually want to know is: Do you two fight a lot? We used to, especially when we were younger.

The best solution we’ve found to this is to split the responsibilities clearly; I’m in charge of Marketing and Terence manages the software engineering and new products. This way, we work really well together.

In addition to development and Q/A teams, we have assembled a great support team. Adrian, Steve, David, and Marcos are all the folks who you talk to whenever you need help. We’re proud of the work they do and how dedicated they are to our customers.

We hope this format will give you a better sense of who we are.
